Which sign-in button do I need?

College Credentials Workday Sign-in: To successfully sign-in using this button, you need your Algonquin College network credentials from your hiring department and multi-factor authentication (MFA). For detailed instructions to set up MFA, please visit the Microsoft Authenticator Help site.

Temporary Credentials Workday Sign-in: To successfully sign-in using this button, you need your username and temporary Workday password. If you changed your temporary password on your first sign-in, to sign-in again, you need the temporary password that you created. Once you receive your College network credentials from your department and have set up MFA, switch to using the College Credentials Workday Sign-in button.  

I’ve reached my start date but am unable to sign into Workday with my @algonquinlive.com account.

Student accounts (username@algonquinlive.com) cannot be used to sign-in to Workday. This is the error message you will see.  

Error Message Sorry, but we're having trouble signing you in.

To resolve this error, you need to sign out of your student account.

Go to  liveac.algonquincollege.com, select your profile picture in the top right corner, and select “Sign out”. Or you can use a private browsing window when accessing Workday.

Once signed out of your student account, use the information above to decide which sign-in button to use. 

I’m seeing the “Workday Sign In Error”

Workday SIgn In Error Invalid user name or password, please try again. Note: You may not be able to change or reset your password from Workday if your account uses a corporate password.

  1. You are using the wrong credentials for the sign-in button that you have chosen.

    – If you haven’t received the credentials for a new or reactivated Algonquin College network account from your hiring department, use the Temporary Credentials Workday Sign-in button with your username and temporary Workday password. If you have forgotten your temporary password, please submit a service request or email WorkdaySupport@algonquincollege.com

    – If you have received your College network credentials from your hiring department and have set up MFA, use the College Credentials Workday Sign-in

  2. You are no longer an employee, meaning that your employment contract has ended and the position has been terminated in Workday. Please contact your hiring department if you are unsure of your employment status.

I did not receive temporary credentials for Workday.

  1. If you didn’t receive temporary Workday credentials but have received your College network credentials and have MFA, use the College Credentials Workday Sign-in
  2. If you haven’t received your College network credentials yet, check your personal email for the following two emails: “Your Workday Username” and “Your Temporary Workday Password.”

If you do not see these two emails, please submit a service request or email WorkdaySupport@algonquincollege.com. Provide your full name and employee number/username in your request, if possible.

***These emails will always be sent to your primary personal email address that is recorded in Workday. It is important to make sure that your contact information in the system is accurate. ***

I have temporary Workday credentials but am not able to sign-in.

  1. If you changed your temporary Workday password on your first sign-in, you need the password that you created to sign-in again. If you have forgotten it, please submit a service request or email WorkdaySupport@algonquincollege.com to request a password reset.
  1. The temporary Workday credentials are only valid until your employment contract start date. Once you reach your employment contract start date, you must use the College Credentials Workday Sign-in button with your College Network Credentials and MFA to sign into Workday.
