Required Program Supplies and Textbooks
REQUIRED PROGRAM SUPPLIES
Go to https://www.bookstore.algonquincollege.com/ for all your program supply needs. You will require the following items for the beginning of the Spring semester:
- 1 lab coat – white, long sleeve, knee length: The lab coat must be worn at all times while participating in on-campus laboratory sessions. The lab coat may be purchased either from Connections – College Bookstore or a supplier of your choice.
- Algonquin College issued Name Tag: Ordered and purchased through Connections – College Bookstore
- Surgical Scrubs – one slate grey set (top and bottom); one forest green set: Slate grey scrubs (top and bottom) are required to be worn during on site clinical and surgery labs. The forest green set is worn to the Ottawa Humane Society. Purchased from Connections – College Bookstore
- Grooming smock: Purchased from Connections – College Bookstore
- Veterinary Assistant Kit: Littman stethoscope, bandage scissors (indicate left or right hand use), goggles, thermometer, thermometer covers etc. in a flat black hip pocket pouch. Purchased from Connections – College Bookstore
- Rubber soled (non-marking), closed toe, tie up, sturdy (minimal fabric) running shoes for clinical labs
- Locker Rental in V Building: Required by all students in the VA program for the Spring and Fall semesters.

It is crucial for your success in the VA Program to have all of your textbooks and supplies before classes commence. Some textbooks may also be available in electronic format – the choice is yours.
