What to Expect
The Veterinary Assistant program will provide you with a well-rounded foundation of knowledge in clinical nursing and surgical care, grooming, nutrition, behavior, and client service practices that are essential for employment in the animal care business.
Our Veterinary Assistant program faculty provide you with an up to date education based on their years of experience in the field of veterinary medicine and animal care.
Work Integrated Learning
In the Veterinary Assistant program you obtain experience with anesthetic monitoring equipment, surgical instruments and preparation, radiography, laboratory samples and diagnostic tests. Basic grooming techniques and veterinary practice software are also taught. You will provide care to our in house population of companion animals. A field placement completes your program of study.
