What to Expect

As a student in the Fitness and Health Promotion program at Algonquin College you gain valuable hands-on experience during classes and labs, many of which are held in the Jack Doyle Athletics and Recreation Centre. You learn to administer fitness assessment protocols, conduct real group fitness classes, and prescribe appropriate exercise programs to real clients as part of the Personal Training course. You also learn to create health and wellness promotion programs by participating in health fairs in various settings, such as daycare centres, corporate fitness centres and seniors residences.
