What to Expect
The Early Childhood Education program at Algonquin College prepares you to become educators of young children in a variety of early learning settings. The program provides you with a combination of theoretical, play-based curriculum, and practice teaching placements. You have the opportunity to participate in workshops, to practice observations, see curriculum and children in action in our on-campus Early Learning Centre Lab School, and other hands-on learning experiences.

Work Integrated Learning
You have access to the on-campus Early Learning Centre Lab School, where you can use your in-person observations to complement your classroom learning.
Three placements, starting in level two in the program enable you to get a better understanding of the roles and responsibilities of Early Childhood Educators within the work environment.
As a graduate you are eligible to apply to become a registered member of the College of Early Childhood Educators in Ontario. You can also pursue further education as a graduate of this program such as the pathway to the Bachelor of Early Learning and Community Development (Honours) degree offered at Algonquin College, or other pathways.
