With an extensive educational background spanning the biological sciences, health professions education, and over twenty years of experience as a practicing registered massage therapist, Lauri has been teaching at Algonquin College since January 2002. While her deepest passion lies in illuminating physiology and pathology concepts, Lauri has found it both professionally and personally rewarding to facilitate students’ learning journeys throughout various levels of the program. Looking ahead, Lauri aims to further develop an evidence-based curriculum and deepen student knowledge through formative assessments and competency-based models. As national accreditation becomes the standard for massage therapy education programs across Canada, she looks forward to guiding continued progress in line with these emerging standards.
