Meet Krista
Dr. Krista Pearson (she/her/hers) assumed the role of Vice President Student Services at Algonquin College on August 19, 2024, following a national search process. With nearly three decades of experience in postsecondary education, Dr. Pearson brings comprehensive academic and administrative experience in student services, strategic enrolment management, systems, and social justice. As an educator, Krista’s passion for supporting learner access and success has been a focus throughout her career.
At Algonquin College, Dr. Pearson held the role of Registrar from December 2015 and was also R3 Project Executive Business Lead. With the appointment to the VP, Student Services, Krista takes on the R3 Project Executive Sponsor role to continue work on this multi-year college transformation project.
Throughout her career, Krista has received numerous awards and scholarships. Most recently, she received a President Star Award in 2023 for demonstrated commitment to excellence, outstanding service, and was recognized in 2017 as the recipient of the Algonquin College’s Administrative Staff Award.
Krista holds a PhD in Educational Studies from Lakehead University, a Master of Education from Nipissing University, a Bachelor of Education from Acadia University, and a Bachelor of Arts from Dalhousie University.
In addition to her responsibilities at Algonquin, Dr. Pearson serves on the Flywire Advisory Board, and is a member of the United Way of Eastern Ontario’s Women United. She has also proudly served as the President of Ontario College Administrative Staff Association (OCASA), as well as other community, provincial, and national committees, and boards.
