Making commitments is an important step in Algonquin College’s sustainability journey, but it is just one step. Delivering on those commitments is the true measure of our integrity.
In all areas of the College we can find evidence of living up to our commitments. We’re already making strides with initiatives in practicing institutional ecology, collaborating with interdisciplinary approaches, fostering environmental literacy in all areas of the College, educating for environmentally-responsible citizenship, and incorporating sustainability strategies into our operations and built environment with energy savings and green buildings—to name just a few.

Faces of Sustainability
Algonquin College students, faculty and staff are championing sustainability in all areas of College life. Leading by example and acting as change agents in areas of curriculum, operations, planning and student activities, individuals profile in our Faces of Sustainability inspire us every day.
Programs and Courses
Starting in the 2013-2014 academic year, all Ontario College Certificate programs delivered at the College will have sustainability embedded as part of the curriculum. The College will also offer a number of programs with sustainability as a primary focus of the curriculum, intended for students with an interest in pursuing careers in sustainability-related fields.
