Commit
All Algonquin College community members are invited to join our journey toward a sustainable Algonquin College.
The College Commitment
At an institutional level, the College has publicly committed to sustainability by signing both the Talloires Declaration and the ACCC Pan Canadian Protocol for Sustainability. As well, an extensive and inclusive process to determine how to apply these visionary goals within the College community has been undertaken, resulting in The Sustainability Strategy Framework. The nine goals of the framework now guide us—students, professors, administrators, staff and members of our broader Algonquin College community—as we commit to take action.
This isn’t about a revolution in what we do at Algonquin—it’s about different and better ways of making decisions as we carry out our individual activities and each take responsibility for doing our own part.
Everyone will have a role to play. Collective efforts and individual contributions will make a difference.
Your Commitment – Start by Taking 10 Minutes
The Primer on Sustainability at Algonquin College, designed for a quick 10-minute read, provides a starting point for all Algonquin College community members embarking on this journey.
Every new day, week, month and year will provide more opportunities on this site and on campus to deepen our understanding of what sustainability means—both as an ideal and in the context of our own roles in realizing a sustainable Algonquin College.
