Tips for Remote Learning
Consider these tips to transition from in-class learning to remote learning:
- This is a transitioning period and adjustment for everyone, please be flexible
- Remote learning can be a new and exciting experience, embrace the opportunity to develop new skills
- Make sure to check in with your course regularly, as updates will happen (Announcements, Course Messages, Emails, etc.)
- Stay organized and find a system that works best for you. Be mindful of deadlines and ensure you have sufficient time to complete your course work
- Be sure to review your course outline and critical path in your course site(s), as it may be updated throughout the rest of the semester
- Ensure you are set up on Brightspace
Zoom Video Conferencing
Zoom is a great tool for meeting with others remotely. Your professor may be using Zoom to hold classes online. You can also use Zoom to meet with your classmates for group projects or study groups. Check out our online guide to get started.

Online Exams/Tests Requiring Proctoring
Proctored exams and tests will be conducted using Honorlock. This software runs through a Google Chrome Browser extension and you can access it through your Brightspace courses. If you have a proctored test or exam, follow these steps:
- Open your course in Brightspace and open the quiz from the Assessments tab.
- Follow the steps to add the browser extension.
- Click Launch Proctoring and complete the authentication process.
- Click to Begin to start your test/exam.

To use Honorlock, you will require the following:
- A working webcam
- A microphone (built in microphones accepted)
- A laptop or desktop computer
- Google Chrome
