Health Services provides essentially all of the services you would expect from a family doctor or medical clinic in a professional and confidential manner. Overall services include birth control information, prescriptions, flu shots, pap tests, STI testing, and immunizations, to name a few.

Health Services is able to provide excellent support for your mental health needs through our team of physicians, our mental health nurse, as well as our partnership with The Royal Mental Health Care and Research Center for psychiatry services. To access the Psychiatry Clinic, you must first meet with a Physician. To learn more about our psychiatry services, or to book an appointment with a Physician, please contact the reception team at 613-727-4723 ext.7222.

Get information on health fees and insurance (including what’s not covered by insurance) for both Canadian and international students. Please note that you must bring your student ID/employee ID and health card (Ontario Health Card, other provincial health card, or Guard Me information for  international health card) with you to every appointment in Health Services in order to see a medical professional.

Project Lighthouse aims to shine light on the topic of sexual violence and help you navigate healthy sexual relationships. Through compassion, education, and awareness, this initiative aims to reduce sexual violence at Algonquin College and support survivors of sexual violence. Look for events and programming on campus to get involved. You can also view a list of on and off-campus supports for survivors of sexual violence at the Ottawa, Pembroke, and Perth campuses.

The Jack Doyle Athletics and Recreation Centre (ARC) will open on Algonquin College’s Ottawa campus in the Fall of 2021. This state of the art building will provide students with the space that they need to meet and exceed their fitness and recreation goals, as well as offer new challenges and experiences.

The Umbrella Project is creating a safer space on campus to discuss how the use of alcohol and other drugs impact students’ lives and focuses on helping students reduce any problematic effects they may experience. Through compassion, objectivity, and non-judgement, the Umbrella Project aims to reduce the harm and unwanted consequences associated with alcohol and other drug use. Check out the online resources, or book a harm reduction consultation if you need information for yourself or to support someone in your life. The Umbrella Project also provides All People, All Pathways group sessions and trainings on overdose prevention.
