SMART

SMART is a facilitator-led skills group that provides information, tools, and techniques to manage addictive behaviours such as substance use (alcohol, illicit drugs, caffeine, prescribed medication, etc.) and activities (eating, gambling, sex, social media use, exercise, etc.). This supportive group is for any student looking for support or supporting others with an addictive behaviour. You will learn how to:
  • Build and maintain motivation
  • Cope with urges
  • Manage thoughts, feelings, and behaviours
  • Live a balanced life
Group details:
  • Meetings will take place on Mondays, from 2 pm-3 pm, from March 17 until April 14.
  • There will be no SMART group during Mid-Term Break (February 24).
  • This is a hybrid group, offering both an in-person option and a virtual option. The virtual option will be hosted on Microsoft Teams. To access the Teams meeting, please click here.
  • If you are interested in attending this group in person, please check in at the Welcome Centre (3rd Floor, E Building) 10 minutes before the group.
  • There are a limited number of spots available each week, filled on a first-come, first-serve basis. The maximum number of participants for each session is 7.
Please note, this is not a clinical counselling group.
