Intro to Improv

May 31, 2022 |6:00pm-7:00pm

The Centre for Accessible Learning (CAL) is hosting a virtual Intro to Improv workshop on Tuesday, May 31, from 6:00pm-7:00pm. This workshop is open to all CAL students and friends – no experience is needed.

The improv games will be easy to adjust for a wide variety of needs so please identify any accommodations when registering. This is an inclusion-centered event and no one will be put on the spot – you can come and just watch others if that works best for you (bring popcorn!) All you need to join is comfy clothes, some decent lighting, and a lot of laughs!

Intro to Improv will be facilitated by Lindsay Snow, a CAL Disabilities Counsellor, and Jason Summers, the Team Lead at the Transition Support Centre for students with Autism.

About Lindsay Snow: Lindsay has taught Improv in Ottawa with the Improv Embassy, written and performed with Ottawa’s sketch comedy group The Sh*t Hot Sh*t Show, and has taken all sorts of classes including with The Second City (Toronto, Hollywood). Lindsay is a chronically sick, cis, queer, fat, English-speaking, white settler who loves how her ADHD thrives in improv spaces.

About Jason Summers: Jason teaches improv at Improv4Health, a space for teens struggling with their mental health to learn improv. He has taken classes and performed with Improv Kingston, Second City, Improv College, and The Assembly. He enjoys improv’s ability to facilitate the creation of worlds, ideas, and communities.

Open to all Algonquin College students. Advanced registration is required. You will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the event after you have registered.
