Are you being ambushed by your emotions?

The Working with Emotions skills group might be for you! Come to the AC Hub between 2 pm and 3:30 pm on January 15 to meet the group facilitators and learn more about the skills that we’ll cover in our structured 5-week DBT group!

In Working with Emotions, you will develop and learn practical skills that help you manage intense emotions and reduce emotional suffering! The sessions are structured around the core Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) Modules that help you:

  • Tolerate painful emotions
  • Learn to regulate your emotions
  • Learn skills to help you improve your relationships with others and self
  • Gain core mindfulness skills that will help you understand yourself and your emotional responses

Program details:

  • The first meeting will take place in the AC Hub on Wednesday, January 15 between 2 pm and 3:30 pm
  • All other meetings will take place on Wednesdays between 2 pm and 3:30 pm, from January 22 to February 19
  • This is an in-person group
  • This group is free
  • Space is limited – register early!
  • This group is open to all current Algonquin College students.

Students must attend the first session on January 15 to be able to participate in the full program. Advance registration is required.
