Medicine Pouch Workshop

In this medicine bag workshop, you will be sewing together a beautiful 3” x 4” medicine bag created from locally sourced whitetail deer leather. The beading on the bag created by Anishinaabe-Kwe artisan Amanda Fox from Wiikwemkoong First Nation. The medicine bag is a traditional Indigenous pouch worn around the neck which contains objects significant to the wearer. In the Anishinaabe culture, there are four sacred medicines traditionally carried in the pouch consisting of Tobacco, Cedar, Sage and Sweet Grass.
You must register by November 19 to receive the craft materials, which will be shipped to you by the workshop date.* After registering, you will receive a Zoom link so you can join the workshop. Follow along in your PJs, be on or off-camera, and ask questions along the way!
Open to current students at Ottawa, Perth, and Pembroke campuses.
*Please note, participants must live in Canada for the material shipment.
