We believe that printing on campus should be environmentally conscious and sustainable. Some of the ways that Print Services makes that possible include:

  • The use of SFI certified paper, that comes from responsibly managed forests, in all campus printers.
  • A number of different SFI & FSC certified papers available to choose from at The Print Shop & The Print Shop Online.
  • PaperCut print management software helps reduce waste by encouraging double sided printing and enabling tap-to-print on campus printers.
  • Participation in the Ricoh Canada toner recycling program promotes the safe and responsible disposal of all our used toner cartridges.
  • Reducing power consumption by configuring all of our printers to enter “sleep mode” when not in use.

In 2024, Ricoh became our new external printer fleet vendor, and we are proud to participate in their toner recycling program. You can bring your used toners to The Print Shop for recycling any time.

Since it's deployment at the College in 2016, PaperCut has helped us to save 4,195 trees, 443,988 kg of CO2 emissions, and enough electricity to power Times Square for 10.4 hours!
