Asana (movement) will guide our practice, which is suitable for beginners or folks curious about yoga.

Jummah Prayer • 12:15 pm & 1:15 pm

Fridays • 12:15 pm & 1:15 pm

Friday (Jumuʿah in Arabic) is the holy day for Muslims. Jumuʿah comes from the same root word as gather and congregation. On Fridays, Muslims attend a special prayer in the afternoon called the Jumuʿah prayer.

Jummah Prayer services will take place in the Old Gym (Room A120, 1st Floor, A Building) every week. There are two exceptions:

  • On November 8, Jummah Prayer will take place in E206 (2nd Floor, E Building)
  • On December 6, Jummah Prayer will take place in the Spiritual Centre in Room E211 (2nd Floor, E Building). Due to capacity limits, this session is open to staff and students only.

Additional information:

  • Students are encouraged to use the ablution rooms provided in E211.
  • We are working hard to ensure there are enough prayer mats for all attendees, however, we invite students to bring their own prayer mats, if possible.

If you have any questions, please contact the Spiritual Centre at spiritualcentre@algonquincollege.com.

Fridays • 6:30 pm-9:30 pm

We will be studying portions of the Book of Acts, which take place after Jesus’ death, resurrection and ascension. How did the first church actually survive so much political opposition? We will find out!
Our study is interactive and follows the inductive method so you can gain helpful skills to study and understand the Bible on your own as well as in our study. We look forward to learning with you.

The Spiritual Centre welcomes students from a wide range of faith and spiritual backgrounds. If there is something that you would like us to offer, but you don’t see it above, please feel welcome to reach out to the coordinator at spiritualcentre@algonquincollege.com.
