All activities in the Spiritual Centre are open to everyone, students and staff, unless otherwise stated. All dates and times are subject to change.
Hours of operation: The Spiritual Centre will be open Monday-Friday, between 8am-8pm. The Centre will be closed on weekends.

Spiritual Centre Open Drop-In Hours
The Spiritual Centre is open Monday – Friday, 8am-8pm. Students and staff are welcome to drop-in and use the space for individual prayer and reflection.
Campus Ministry Chaplain
Our Christian chaplain, Yuriy Derkach, is available by appointment to students and employees of all faiths and beliefs for online spiritual counselling. Contact him by email to set up an appointment: derkacy@algonquincollege.com .

A workshop focused on discovering who you are, including your strengths, gifts, talents, and passions. You will learn about your mission, vision, values, purpose, and how to be successful.
Creative Visualization (E204) • 1pm-2pm

This is a meditative creative session, to explore your vision, mission and purpose in life by creating a personalized vision board and visualizing your life.
Maranatha Meditations (E204) • 2pm-3pm
Come and practice Christian breathing meditation, and learn stillness, and how to be present, conscience and aware.
Tuesdays
Learn Lectio Divina (E204) • 12pm-1pm

Come and learn a simple method of prayerful reading of Scripture from the Catholic tradition. This practice dates back to the early centuries of Christianity. Learn about the steps of this useful Biblical tool, practice it with a Scriptural reading, and take some time to note, reflect and share.

This group meets to study and discuss the word of God and share interpretations of the Old and New Testaments of the Bible. Explore what it means to live according to God’s instructions and inspire each other to live a Christian life.

InterVarsity’s Creative Prayer: An Interactive Learning Experience (E204) • 12pm-2pm

Have you ever wondered about prayer? How does it work? Why do people pray? This interactive drop-in experience is a great way to observe or try it out for yourself! There will be a short introduction to a few different ways to pray with an open Q&A discussion and then open stations for you to try it! It’s “creative” because there are so many different ways to pray. Some involve using our hands to make things too. Come by and try it out!

Weekly congregational prayer for our Muslim students and staff. Two services are available throughout the Spring 2024 Term.
