What to Expect

Algonquin College is proud to provide a diverse and dynamic student experience. As a student in the Mechanical Engineering Technology program, you will explore the foundations and principles of Mechanical Engineering hands-on, working with professors who come from industry as well as industry clients to gain experience. This program is an identified pathway for the Bachelor of Engineering (Automation & Robotics) degree program at Algonquin College.

“I was initially attracted to Algonquin College after hearing about its great reputation in the community and abroad, and researching the programs I was interested in. I was drawn to the Mechanical Engineering Technology program upon recommendation from several industry contacts in both the private and public sectors.

The program has proven to be quite challenging and rewarding, providing a good balance of both theoretical and practical courses. It is quite rewarding to see the skills you have gained when applying your knowledge in hands-on labs and in everyday life.

Once I graduate from the program, I plan on taking advantage of Algonquin’s articulation agreements with local universities to obtain an undergraduate degree. Once I graduate, I plan on working in the transportation sector as an accident investigator with the Transportation Safety Board.”
