Mechanical Engineering Technology Student Experience

Learn engineering design from the ground up

Students in the Mechanical Engineering Technology program at Algonquin College learn engineering design concepts from the ground up, and apply them during a team project with an industrial partner, where they design and manufacture a working prototype in adherence to industry’s needs. This program will provide students with a well-rounded education, that will lead to multiple career opportunities in a variety of industries.

The Mechanical Engineering Technology Club is geared towards competitions, design, entrepreneurship and professional networking and has been put together by students in the three-year Mechanical Engineering Technology program.

The club is also looking for more members from any of the Engineering Technician or Technology programs at the College.

Latest Update on Algonquin Airborne Ace’s flight – “A pat on the back for the faculty and student team members of the Algonquin Airborne Aces, a team of Mechanical Engineering Technology students, two faculty members, and a Business
– Entrepreneurship student! The team designed a glider for the Red Bull Flugtag competition which was held at the Museum of Civilization on Saturday, July 27th. While a strong tailwind knocked the craft off course as it traveled down the runway, the team showed great spirit and put in a tremendous effort.
