Edible Architecture: Algonquin College’s tasty competition
Just in time for Valentine’s Day
On February 14, 2011, the 20th installment of the Algonquin College Architectural Technology program’s “edible architecture” contest will be held on campus, just in time for Valentine’s Day. This contest truly engages the creativity of students from the Interior Decorating, Interior Design, and Architectural Technology programs as they compete to build the most architecturally sound, and tasty, structure.
The rules of this very visual, and tasty, event are simple; each entry must be totally edible (including fasteners, glue and structural support) and must portray some architectural or design theme with a creative flair.
In the past students have used materials such as chocolate, graham crackers, licorice Rice Krispies, butter, sugar, icing, cookies, and more chocolate.
