Student Experience
The Environmental Management and Assessment program is a two-semester graduate certificate, which includes an optional third semester of paid co-op experience. This program is ideal for students who are curious and scientifically minded, and who wish to make an impact on environmental research, providing assessments, reporting and mapping potential solutions.
The EMA program is delivered in a hybrid format, combining online and in-person learning, using classroom, laboratory, and field settings. Due to the program’s significant hands-on component, attendance at all classes is expected.
Your theory classes will be delivered online during the week, which you will be able to complete at your own pace. During the weekends you will have labs at the Ottawa campus for hands-on skills development. The course load is a full-time program, but some students do continue to work full- or part-time while in school.
