Joint Occupational Health & Safety Committees (JOHSCs)
In accordance with policy HS01: Occupational Health and Safety, Algonquin College maintains Joint Occupational Health & Safety Committees (JOHSCs) at Ottawa, Perth and Pembroke Campus.
JOHSCs are an integral part of the internal responsibility system for occupational health & safety at the College. These committees are heavily involved in inspecting the physical condition of the workplace on a regular basis, monitoring tests and reporting functions, investigations of serious injuries and making recommendations to the employer regarding measures and procedures, which serve to reduce hazards and enhance safety for all staff.
