Residence Community Living Standards
We rely on the guidelines held in the RCLS to map out standards and expectations for each member of the community to make this a healthy, safe, and successful Residence experience.
We encourage you to browse through the RCLS to learn more about how we all get along in Residence!
Residence Community Living Standards
The RCLS lists the guidelines expected of all residents, the rights, privileges, and responsibilities of residents, and the judicial procedures used when the guidelines aren’t met. Basically, the RCLS outline the rules that support the creation of a welcoming and safe community for everyone living here. Residence Life Staff will investigate the incident and make a decision on applying sanctions. Sanctions can range from a written warning to eviction and may include tasks to promote learning, community betterment, or fines. Any resident involved can share information they want to be included in the decision and appeal a decision if they don’t agree.Q: What are the Resident Community Living Standards?
Q: What happens if someone doesn’t follow the RCLS?
Parents, Guardians & Supporters
We know that your support will help your student to be successful here at Algonquin College. We know that you are a big part of the move-in process too, so we have put together some information with you in mind!

What to Bring
The earliest move-in day for Winter Term 2025 is January 04. The Residence cannot accept early arrivals, please select a preferred move-in arrival time slot in your application by clicking on ‘appointments’ in the application menu. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide carts for everyone during move-in. If you need a cart, please bring one with you as we may not have carts available. To lessen congestion in Residence and lessen elevator wait times, we kindly ask you to limit the number of individuals helping you move-in. Remember, you could be moving in at the same time as your roommate…that’s a lot of people in a small space at once! Once you arrive, you will be greeted by Residence staff members who will provide you with your move-in package which includes your room assignment and keys and the front desk is available 24/7 to answer any questions you may have. If you are unable to move in during the official move-in weekend, please email us at info@algonquinresidence.ca to let us know when you will be arriving so we can update your arrival date. If you have specific accommodation needs, please indicate that in your Residence application under “Special Considerations”.
