How to Apply for the Winter 2024 Elective
There are 3 categories of Pembroke students, make sure you are reading the information for the group that applies to you:
Group 1 – Pembroke: Outdoor Adventure students
YOU ARE IN GROUP 1 IF: You are an ODA student and Rainforest and Tropical Science is one of my program elective choices.
This elective will be on your program elective list on ACSIS — follow the steps below:
Step 1 – Confirm your spot – Contact Chris Melmoth at the Pembroke Campus, 613-735-4700 ext. 2880 or Cam Dube, ext. 2718.

Group 2 – Pembroke: Other full-time students who need a Winter elective
- See your coordinator for permission to take the Rainforest course. Complete an Admissions Dept. ‘Drop/Add’ form to ‘Add’ Rainforest and Tropical Science ENV0003.
- If approved, your coordinator will ensure the completed ‘Drop/Add’ form is sent to the Registrar’s Office.
Step 3 – Complete a Registration & Payment Form and return with a copy of your passport by fax, mail, or in-person to:

Hours: Monday to Friday 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. or Saturday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. or Sunday 12 to 4 p.m.
Group 3 – Pembroke: Students (full-time or part-time day students) who DO NOT need an elective in the winter semester but wish to take this course
Step 1 – Confirm your spot – Contact Chris Melmoth at the Pembroke Campus 613-735-4700, ext. 2880, Room 319 or Cam Dube, ext. 2718, Room 311 to confirm if a seat is available and that you have the approval to register.
- Full-time students: See your program coordinator to approve this elective. Complete an Admissions Dept. ‘Drop/Add’ form to ‘Add’ Rainforest and Tropical Science ENV0003. Part-time students attached to a program need to see their coordinator as well and pay tuition fees for the course.
- If approved, your coordinator will ensure the completed ‘Drop/Add’ form is sent to the Registrar’s Office.
NOTE: if the Rainforest course does not show up on your Brightspace account, go to the Admissions Office and they will check it out for you.
