The R3 Project Implementation Committee: Bringing the vision to life

R3 Project Implementation Committee

One of the R3 Project’s biggest goals it to review and make recommendations on Business Processes and thus work closely with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and Core SIS Users to effectively implement the new Student Information System (SIS), Thesis Student Management (Thesis SM).

This comes to life via recommendations from the Implementation Committee, which encompasses a range of Algonquin College employees who represent departments from across the College.

Let’s break down what the Implementation Committee does, its member roster, and what their commitment to the R3 Project means for the future of the Algonquin College community.

What does the Implementation Committee do?

As this committee includes college-wide representation, each member has high internal visibility and is known as a key change agent and stakeholder advocate. They continuously participate in meetings as well as in R3 communication events and activities. They also cascade and gather feedback from their peers.

As well, the Implementation Committee members are available to answer questions from colleagues, specifically when it’s related to the project plans.

Here are some sample question topics that have been asked to Implementation Committee members:

  • When will we be reviewing the Admission process?
  • I’ve heard that we are improving Business Processes. How does this work?
  • What types of decisions have been made?

The Implementation Committee is also closely tied to the various Working Groups that are involved in the Project. They frequently work with the College’s SMEs and R3 Project team, as well as report to the R3 Project Steering Committee.
