Recap: Nov. 14, 2023 Showcase Event | Integrations and Student Payment Demo

This November’s Showcase event was hosted by Chief Digital Officer and R3 Project Business Co-Lead, Lois Pollock. The event welcomed more than 240 participants from across the College who came together to celebrate some of the highlights and benefits we are starting to see through digital transformation. Participants had the opportunity to hear about some of the processes that will be improved by modernizing our integrations platform.

Jason Taker, Manager of Digital Transformation, provided an overview of typical SIS functionality and compared integrations in GeneSIS to those in the new SIS, Thesis SM. After defining the role of integrations, Jason provided examples of the benefits modernized integrations will have for our learners.

Next, Curriculum Administrator Micheline Kraska, outlined Curriculum Management Business Processes at AC. By comparing GeneSIS with typical SIS functionality, she highlighted the forecasted benefits of modernized integrations by describing the current and future process of the Annual Curriculum Review (ACR).

James Pede, Associate Director of Financial Operations introduced Flywire, the integrated payment solution in Thesis SM. James provided an overview of domestic student payments and how the student payment process will be modernized and simplified through the Flywire – Thesis SM integration.

Jessica Trask, Business Systems Analyst with the R3 Project, finished off the presentation by providing a live demo of how students will submit payments using Flywire in the Thesis Student Portal.

The event closed with an engaging Q&A session and an audience poll.
