Learner Benefits Part 1: Personalizing the experience for our learners

The R3 Project is directly connected to the Mission and Vision of Algonquin College, which is to transform the hopes and dreams of our learners into lifelong success and be a global leader in personalized, digitally connected experiential learning.

Through the R3 Project, the College is achieving this by investing in a new Student Portal, a new Student Information System, and modernized supporting technology.

Modernizing our technology and processes has a lot of benefits for our employees, but for now, we want to focus on some of the benefits our learners will be experiencing once we launch the Thesis Student Portal.

So, first on the list is the Personalized Learner Experience.

What do we mean by a Personalized Learner Experience?

The new Student Portal will provide learners with personalized, up-to-date information. One example is the new Credential Audit tool, which helps learners see what requirements they have completed in their program, what is underway, and what remains.

In other words, the Credential Audit tool helps learners really get into the nitty gritty details of their academic progress and stay on track as they move through their program. By having this information at their fingertips, learners will be confident from the moment they start their first class to the day they step on stage for convocation!

What are the benefits?

The Credential Audit tool is almost like having your own Academic Advisor at your disposal. The best part is that the Credential Audit will look different for each learner depending on their program and needs – nothing more and nothing less.

Charmaine Childs, Manager of Engagement and Communications, and Elizabeth Holmes, Change Management Officer, played the roles of employee and student to showcase just how easy it is for learners to access their information, including the new Credential Audit tool.
