Introducing ‘New Term Tuesday!’

The R3 Project has launched ‘New Term Tuesday,’ a campaign to share important new terms related to the introduction of the Student Information System (SIS) with the College community. Each Tuesday, we will post a new term on myAC and the project SharePoint site to gradually increase the College community’s knowledge of the new terms that we will use within our new SIS, Thesis Student Management (Thesis SM).

The goal of this initiative is to prepare employees for the upcoming Thesis SM training and reduce the initial learning curve. The weekly terms will include a definition and representative image to help both the visual and theoretical learners! Hint: it will be worthwhile to really know your stuff for our December Milestone Celebration event on Dec. 7, 2021.

We are introducing New Term Tuesday because Thesis SM brings with it new terms that we need to learn in order to use it. Learning them now means you are putting in place building blocks for the formal training on new business processes and the Thesis tool that you will have before we launch the new system.

We encourage you to review the terms on the R3 site and consider how they relate to the terms you use now and how they differ. As you begin to understand the concepts they represent, you will also begin to understand how the work you do will change.
