The R3 Project has established five main objectives that we refer to whenever we make a decision that has ultimate outcomes. We always make sure that at least one of these objectives is being met when we’re re-working an existing element or introducing a new Business Process.
One of the three key purposes of the R3 Project is to implement a new Student Information System (SIS). Our current SIS, GeneSIS, has served us well for the past 25 years, but it’s time to introduce a new SIS that meets our technological requirements and aligns more with student needs. This is where Thesis Student Management (or Thesis SM) comes in!
When Laura Stanbra, Vice President, Student Services came on board as the R3 Project Executive Sponsor, she knew she was going to be involved in something special.
A project sponsor champions and leads the change by consistently articulating the Project’s vision and how it links to the College’s overall strategy.
As we move into the Design and Develop (or Personalize) Phase of the Project, we connected with Stanbra and asked about her experience thus far within the Project, including surprises she’s witnessed along the way and her ultimate vision once the Project fully comes to life.
When it comes to ensuring that the College community is involved with the R3 Project, we’ve been so fortunate to have 43 Change Champions on board to support that initiative.
The July 19 R3 Showcase welcomed more than 150 participants to its virtual gathering where participants were provided with a general overview of the R3 Project scope. Participants also saw a demo of the new Student Information System, Thesis SM, and had the opportunity to asks questions at the end.
