Suzanne Hartlin
Algonquin College in the Ottawa Valley
Suzanne deserves the President’s Star Award as she daily demonstrates a commitment to excellence in her role as SSO.
She truly demonstrates the college’s values of caring, learning, integrity and respect as she continues to assist anyone who requires her help.
Since I began working at the college, I was amazed at how Suzanne was always volunteering. Whether it was to cook for the Capital Campaign Crock Pot Day, bake pies for the United Way Pie Sale or help serve at any student function Student Services was organizing, Suzanne was always quietly among the volunteers. She even started a regular Soup luncheon to get staff together for a bowl of soup at lunch time.
When I was asked to help out in an area at the college where I didn’t have a lot of experience, I found myself with a huge learning curve. Suzanne took me under her wing, despite her extremely busy schedule, and continues to tutor me. She is considered the expert by many and is always approachable. She has amazing patience and is always guiding her fellow employees towards accurate results.
Suzanne is truly deserving of the President’s Star Award.
