Rosemary Forte Ianni
School of Hospitality
Rosemary Ianni is a most valued member of the team at the School of Hospitality. We are truly lucky to have her in our team.
In her role as a technician, she has always gone above and beyond the call of duty to an extent that makes it hard to compare her efforts. She regularly waits well beyond her regular (late shift) hours until students have completed their tasks so that she can assist them in storing food away to be ready for sale through Savoir Faire. Her demanding job makes her the first point of call for all chef instructors and culinary students during our (many) evening classes. She is always available, ready to help, solve problems, and delivers all that is expected of her with a huge smile, and a very positive attitude. She is a most caring individual who has never made her colleagues, or students, feel anything but comfortable in approaching her.
In numerous occasions, even though she is not required to do so, she regularly makes the rounds to check that all instructors have what they need.
Every time I have approached Rosemary for help, she was always available, approachable, and have always answered my calls for assistance with a huge smile and an incredibly positive attitude. I know for a fact that she does the same to everyone else in the school. I have observed in many occasions how she spent time answering questions from new students, and staff, and giving them guidance and suggestions to make the start of their time at Algonquin as easy as possible.
The most amazing thing about Rosie, as she is affectionately known, is that she genuinely cares about people, and gives 200% of her energy, time, support, and encouragement to all around her. I have never seen her turn down any request for assistance whether or not it was part of her job. She clearly enjoys being around students and supports them in everyway she can. However, she never intrudes or imposes her kindness on people around her. She has refined people skills, and is a fantastic team player who is eager to perform her duties to the highest possible standards.
I could not sufficiently do her justice by describing just how professional, efficient, effective, organized, methodical, caring, supportive, loving, and dedicated she is. If there was a vote taken at the School of Hospitality as to who would be a most deserving recipient of the President’s Star Award, Rosemary Forte Ianni’s name would be right at the top of the list of other deserving individuals.
I sincerely hope you will recognize Rosemary’s wonderful dedication and excellence of service and commitment to the college community. We all owe her a huge debt of gratitude for all that she does on a daily basis without ever stopping to be thanked. Let’s show her that we know, appreciate, and are grateful.
