Dale Chimirri
Parking, Lockers, Coin-Ops, and Card Services
One of many specific examples I have pertaining to Dale’s involvement with the student experience transitions from Residence back to his current position as the locker clerk. Dale became very close with a high population of students while working in the residence. One of the students who he spoke with and assisted on a reoccurring basis was an international student who was confined to a wheel chair. The student in question had a lot of mobility difficulties and had been having difficulty with his powered wheel chair. Dale assisted the student when the repair company came to fix the chair. I have also seen Dale assist the student in accessing the Laundry facilities as (at that time) the doors to the laundry rooms were not motorized. Dales interactions with the student has recently transitioned over to the main campus as Dale has brought the same student on board to help test and give feedback for the new accessible locker system that Locker Services is planning on implementing within the college. Dale has fostered many relationships, similar to this example, built on respect for the students we have here at Algonquin.
