Ram Sabotic is an exceptional candidate for the President’s Star Award. Without exception, Ram consistently demonstrates a commitment to excellence in his role as Senior Technologist in the ITS department. Each semester he makes it his mission to respond to problems – whether in the computer labs dealing with hardware problems, or most recently responding to software and connectivity issues. His always-pleasant attitude and ability to take charge and resolve the problem is exceptional.

His quick response to faculty concerns is remarkable. Whether the problem is printer-related, or a unique software issue, Ram follows through to ensure a resolution. He has come into my labs to address printer and software issues, to monitor – during a class – how he can best address the problem. When Ram says he’ll get to the root of the problem, he follows through – always!

This week I received an email from a very frustrated student who, after loading parallels onto her MacBook, was still struggling to run Office Suite 2010. She had been back and forth to ITS – following their directions – but without success. I spoke with Ram and without hesitation, he extended the offer to meet with this student, to assist her and ensure her MacBook was properly configured.

Ram is a shining star in my books, and absolutely deserving of the President’s Star Award.
