Linda Joly works at the second cup eatery in the C building. Everyday she interacts with students and staff by providing service with a smile as they get their daily coffee/snacks. This morning I listened to her talk with a student about his night and how tired he was with all the final work he has. Her ease of conversation and willingness to interact with him and many other students made me think how many students she talks to on a daily basis and how many know her by name. These are the small things that add to the student experience of the college, as we, in Marketing – look for things that are unique about our college; the good staff we have certainly comes forward.
Many students work for Linda in second cup (as i once did) and she is always willing to give them time of for studying and to participate in other college activities. Recently she gave ! time off to one of her international students so he could participate in a photo shoot I was organizing. The flexibility and the willingness to contribute to students’ experience, making it a positive one – even if it is just to get a morning coffee or have some time off shows how caring Linda is, she treats every student she comes in contact with like one of her own children. We can’t go wrong with staff like this.
