Albert Dudley
Curriculum Implementation Services
I am pleased to nominate Albert Dudley for consideration of a Star Award. Albert works with Curriculum Implementation Services and is responsible for advising leadership teams, leading the process of culture change, removing barriers to communication and fostering faculty engagement.
I was introduced to Albert about two years ago and since that time he has become a valuable resource person to faculty in the School of Health and Community Studies and specifically the dental programs. His expertise and intelligence has guided the dental team through program and course revisions, technology integration and mobile learning, and creation of Blackboard interactive solutions.
Albert’s willingness to take on projects of a varied nature has impressed me. Albert spent countless hours with me taking pictures of dental instruments and then worked with me to create online quizzes and interactive activities. He coaxed me to consider using Excel for a report I was writing and spent time showing me how to work with the software, create and interpret graphs and format spreadsheets. He tirelessly produced complicated program/course maps that support development of the Dental Hygiene curriculum and has allocated time to work with me to develop course outlines and plan assessment and testing strategies. Through his vision, attention to detail, dedication and desire to provide Algonquin College students and faculty an ideal environment to succeed, Albert has demonstrated the qualities and characteristics that make him deserving of the President’s Star Award.
In closing I would like to say that Albert’s enthusiasm for learning, creating and exploring is infectious. Through his warm and positive attitude he has made me appreciate the importance of fostering an environment of creativity and innovation in teaching.
