Scott Warrick
Hospitality and Tourism
In a very short time, Scott has brought more to the table than most of us put together!
He has involved Algonquin Culinary students with BluesFest, one of Canada’s premiere outdoor events in the Nation’s Capital. This money generating activity for the School of Hospitality provides a positive learning experience to junior cooks as they prepare and serve up to 1500 meals a day for event staff.
Scott has been instrumental in bringing the CCFCC (Canadian Culinary Federation) back to Algonquin College. The CCFCC is widely regarded as one of Canada’s top cooking federations. Enrolling“ junior chefs” is very important in our field and Scott has been leading the charge to make sure our students are actively involved and leading us in into future.
This year we will host the second annual “Maple Leaf Hot Food Competition”. How did we get selected to host such a competition? Scott convinced management at Maple Leaf that our school would provide a perfect backdrop for such an event. Thanks to Scott’s efforts, both faculty and students now host one of the most fun and sought after competitions in the Ottawa area.
To know Scott is to truly appreciate everything he does and everything he will bring in the future.
