OSAP & Specialty Programs
The Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP) is a financial aid program that can help you pay for college or university.
OSAP offers funding through:
- grants: money you don’t have to pay back
- a student loan: money you need to repay once you’re done school
OSAP can help you pay for:
- tuition
- books and equipment
- fees charged by your school
- living expenses (full-time students only)
- child care (for full-time and part-time students with children)

Indigenous students can access federal and provincial grants through their OSAP application as well as specific bursaries through Algonquin College’s bursary application on ACSIS.

Algonquin College offers a scholarship for first-year, first-term post-secondary international students and is based on transcripts and a personal statement. The Financial Aid and Student Awards Office also administers a limited number of bursaries for the International Education Centre. International students can apply for bursaries on ACSIS.

The Experienced Worker Centre (EWC) at Algonquin College can help adults who have been laid-off, are underemployed or are simply considering a new career identify programs and financial support that can assist them on their journey, such as Second Career.

Grants for students with permanent disabilities are available through OSAP. If you indicate on your OSAP application that you have a permanent disability, you will be required to provide proof for OSAP purposes. Contact your physician to have the required OSAP document completed for submission. Book an appointment with the Centre for Accessible Learning if you wish to access available disability grants.
