Job Description

Before and After School Educator (RECE or non ECE)
St. John’s Elementary School

Temporary, Part-Time – 65 hours bi-weekly

This position is expected to begin on or about December 16 , 2024 and end on or about July 1, 2025.

As part of a child care team, you will assist staff in providing a daily program for children in a safe, secure environment in accordance with the goals and curriculum plans of the program and the Child Care and Early Years Act. Educator must be familiar with the “How Does Learning Happen?” document. Fulfill all the obligations and responsibilities as outlined in the job description. The hours of work and location will be determined by enrolment and operational requirements and are subject to change.

Required Qualifications:

• RECE or Child and Youth Care Worker; Preferred although not mandatory,
• If RECE, member in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators;
• Experience working with children in a childcare setting;
• A current Police Vulnerable Sector Check;
• Have or be willing to take Standard First Aid and CPR, prior to start.

Pay Rate: as per Collective Agreement CUPE Local 4474
