Job Description
Lanark Cedar is seeking a full-time Shop Lead Hand to join our expanding team of lumber and millwork professionals.

Lanark Cedar is a growing Canadian business providing millwork services and speciality lumber to Eastern Ontario and beyond. Sourcing woods locally, we supply wood products to business partners, contractors, independent homeowners, and skilled craftsmen. YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:
Reporting to the Owner/Management team, the Shop Lead Hand will support the daily shop activities of the business with an aim to helping manage workflow, along with monitoring all production activities while maintaining a safe working environment.
Schedule: 42 hours week (during peak periods) and 37.5 (during off-peak periods) with Sundays guaranteed off
Hourly Rate: $24.00-27.00 per hour based on experience
Location: 289 Ramsay Concession 2A (Hwy #7)
SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
•Planning/Production: During peak periods maintain production schedule to ensure orders are filled in a very fast paced environment. The Lead Hand assigns duties and facilitates a solid environment of safety, teamwork and communication with associates. Planing, re-sawing, building fence panels, sanding, and staining.
•Inspects operating machinery and equipment periodically;
•Participates in management meetings;
•Coordinating with sales and customer service;
•Other tasks as required.
WHAT YOU NEED
•Professional approach and presence;
•Good organization skills
•Outstanding attitude: have initiative, display excellent follow-up, have a positive outlook and be a pleasure to work with;
•Excellent English communications skills (written and verbal);
•High School diploma or equivalent;
•Previous experience in the lumber industry or woodworking is considered an asset;
•Forklift and loader experience an asset
•French communication skills are considered an asset;
•College diploma/university degree is considered an asset.
