Employment Agreement – Marketing & Content Creator

Position summary:
Reporting to the Downtown Heritage Perth BIA Board of Directors through the Personnel Committee, the Creator will be responsible for producing engaging and informative content for DHPBIA. In this position you will be expected to market, research and execute various types of content, such as social media posts, marketing materials, and monthly newsletters. You should have a deep understanding of our target audience and be able to deliver content that resonates with them.

The Downtown Heritage Perth Business Improvement Area (DHPBIA) serves the business interests within our downtown. It is run by a volunteer board of directors and an active membership that promotes the commercial area as a vibrant business and shopping district with the goal of encouraging residents and visitors to support local.

A passionate candidate will have the opportunity to promote local businesses and champion our thriving downtown community. You will become the storyteller for our business and market all upcoming events.

Specific Responsibilities:
● Support the Board and Coordinator in executing the DHPBIA’s vision through marketing and social media
● Seasonal Marketing & Event Campaigns: Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall & Holiday. Prepare and execute marketing campaigns for various events throughout the year

● Support the Promotions Committee in creating event posters and graphics for upcoming events and promotions
● Generate content for the monthly members only newsletter
● Generate content for the monthly community newsletter, and continue to grow the data base of recipients
● Oversee website updates – including event page, business directory, uploading meeting minutes
● Write, edit and proofread content to ensure it is free of errors and maximizes SEO
● Create and execute a monthly social media content calendar that aligns with brand voice and marketing goals
● Develop, create and produce videos for social media (Reels/Instagram/Stories etc)
● Ensure the success of content using analytic tools and adjusting strategy based on the data
● Work with our members to collect information for social media content

Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s degree in Business, Journalism, Digital Marketing and or Communications or equivalent business experience
● Proven work experience as a Content Creator or similar role
● Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills
● Experience using various social media platforms for advertising and marketing
● Knowledge of SEO and web traffic metrics
● Graphic design knowledge
● Detail and results-oriented, deadline driven, extremely organized
● Proven capacity to work independently
● Knowledge of industry trends and best practices

Work Schedule & Environment:
● Remote, office based
● Make your own schedule with the ability to report to the Board for scheduled meetings and updates
● Three-month initial contract, with opportunity to renew long-term

Contract:
● $1500/ month + HST
