Job Description
Vintage Soil Farm is looking for 1 full-time farmer to join our team both in the field and at a farmers’ market.
About Us
Our mission is to cultivate soil, food, and community sustainably. VS is a small-scale mixed vegetable farm located in Frankville Ontario located directly in between Kingston and Ottawa.
VS is a hybrid farm using draft power a tractor and human power. We grow in accordance with the organic certification standards and are pursuing certification.
In 2025 VS will be growing between 3 and 4 acres of mixed veg along with 10 acres of cover crop. In addition to that we have 2 greenhouses. VS distributes our produce through 2 farmers’ markets, a summer CSA and a fall CSA.

We are a small farm with a small team. You must be comfortable working alone and taking initiative. We will be a 2-5 person team depending on the day and working alone is going to be a regular occurrence. But, you will also be working closely alongside the owner, Isabelle. There is a lot of potential for knowledge sharing.
There will be the opportunity to be involved in many aspects of the farm:
Propagation
Greenhouse management
Transplanting
Irrigation management
Farmer’s Market
CSA pick-up and deliveries
Post-harvest and CSA packing
Minor infrastructure projects
Farm stand management
And more!
If you are coming to the farm with previous farming experience we can work together to include areas of particular interest into your daily tasks.
Job Terms
May 5th to October 31st
This position will start as a Monday-to-Friday role and then transition to a Wednesday to Saturday role to include a longer market day.
35 hours a week. There may be potential for a few extra hours here and there, we value work-life balance and will never work more than 35-40 hours a week.
Starting wage is $18+/hr
Full driver’s license required
