Next Steps
We’re thrilled to have you.
You’ve been accepted to Algonquin College’s beautiful Pembroke Campus along the shores of the Ottawa River! We’re so happy you decided to apply here, and we’re looking forward to having you as part of our campus community.
To help guide you through the next steps of the application process, we’ve provided the information you need to confirm your acceptance and secure your seat. Not to mention, you’ll get details on the wide range of services available to you at the Pembroke Campus. Save this page as a reference for the coming months.
Confirm Your Offer
Have you been accepted?
Great! This means you’ve completed all necessary admissions requirements.
Confirm your Offer of Admission at ontariocolleges.ca/confirm as soon as possible to secure your seat.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing students accepted through the University of Ottawa can confirm their offer through Ontario Universities’ Application Centre (OUAC).
Have you been conditionally accepted?
This just means there are some outstanding admission requirements you’ll need to complete.
First, confirm your conditional Offer of Admission at ontariocolleges.ca/confirm as soon as possible to save your seat. Next, refer to the information in your letter.
The final assessment of your application cannot be completed until you have met all the admission requirements for your program. The outstanding admissions requirements deadline for the Winter semester is December 1. The outstanding admissions requirements deadline for the Fall semester is August 1.
If you do not submit your outstanding admission requirements by the proper deadlines, your application could be cancelled.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing students need to connect with the University of Ottawa to confirm the process and timeframe related to any conditions that may be associated with your offer.
IMPORTANT: For the Fall 2025 term, you must confirm your Offer of Admission before May 1 to save your seat. If not, we won’t know you’re coming and you risk losing your seat in the program. If you receive an Offer of Admission after May 1, the due date of your confirmation is in your acceptance email, but you should confirm your seat as soon as possible.

Pay Your Tuition Fee Deposit
All new domestic full-time students who have not applied for OSAP must pay a $500.00 non-refundable Tuition Deposit in their initial term of an academic year. This non-refundable $500.00 deposit payment secures the student’s seat in their program for the year and is put towards the balance of fees owing for that term. Algonquin College students who have applied for OSAP are eligible for a deferral of their $500.00 non-refundable tuition deposit through their ACSIS account. Please view the Payment Due Dates site for more detailed due date information.
Upon payment or deferral of the $500.00 non-refundable Tuition Deposit, the remaining fees are deferred automatically. The Balance Due Date will be three weeks after the start of their term. If a student is late paying that remaining balance, they will be assessed a $150.00 late payment penalty.
Fee Deferments for Domestic Students
A fee deferment is an agreement between a student and Algonquin College that allows the student an additional three weeks to pay the balance of their tuition fees, following the start of their academic term.
After a student has paid the $500.00 non-refundable Tuition Deposit for their initial term of the academic year, the remaining fees are deferred automatically.
Note: If a student is late deferring their fees, or is late paying their remaining balance, they will be assessed a $150.00 late payment penalty. This penalty will only be charged a maximum of once per term.
Account Balance: You can check the balance of your fees, at any time, through ACSIS under the menu item – Account Balance.
If you have applied to the Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP), you may be eligible to defer your $500 non-refundable tuition deposit through your ACSIS account. Find out more about OSAP or the tuition deposit.
Paying Via Online Banking
Avoid the lineups, pay via online banking. It’s easy, secure and quick! Here is how:
- Make the payment through online banking with any major Canadian bank
- Use your bill payment option and add Algonquin College Tuition as the payee
- Use your Algonquin College 9-digit student number as the account number
Online banking payments can take a few days to process. We will honour the date you paid and not the date it was processed.
First things first (and the most exciting!), you’ll need to confirm your Offer of Admission. If you received more than one offer, only confirm to the program you want. Here is the link to the Ontario College Application Service, where you can confirm your Offer of Admission.
Paying Via Cheque
Payments using cheques, certified cheques, or money orders can be mailed but must be received by the Registrar’s Office no later than the close of business on the due date.
Students attending the Pembroke Campus should send payment to:

More perks:
Get Credit
Algonquin College recognizes previous academic and employment experience.
Transfer of Academic Credit (Exemptions)
Your experience counts. Reward what you’ve done in your past to enrich your future. As well, Algonquin College may offer recognition for your previously earned college and/or university course credits.
Transfer Credit
- Have you completed courses in the last five years at a recognized post-secondary institution? (Electives and certain other courses, at the department’s discretion, may have an extended time limit.)
- Did you achieve 2.0 GPA (C, 63%) or greater?
- If so, you could be eligible for exemption from one or more of your required courses at Algonquin College.
Looking to transfer a previous post-secondary credit(s)? Please visit the Course Exemptions and Credit Transfers webpage to learn more about the process.
Contact Emily Quenneville, quennee@algonquincollege.com or 613-735-4700 x2811 to discuss the process.
Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR)
PLAR is a process that assists adult learners to identify, articulate and demonstrate relevant learning acquired through life and work experiences and translate this learning into college credit.
You can apply for a general education course credit using PLAR by demonstrating that you have acquired college-level learning that addresses one of the general education themes required for your program.
Learn more about the PLAR process and eligibility.
Advanced Standing
If you’ve already earned some postsecondary credits, you can transfer your credits or be considered for admission to upper levels of study.
This means it may take you less time to complete your diploma/degree or you may have a reduced course load, resulting in a more comfortable school/work/life balance. It also means you may enter the job market sooner and potentially save time and money on your education.
Individual Transfer Credit is awarded to students who have completed a similar or equivalent course at another postsecondary institution that is considered equal in content or academic value.
Contact Emily Quenneville, quennee@algonquincollege.com or 613-735-4700 x2811 to discuss your advanced standing application process.

AC Start Orientation takes place in the lead-up to AC Day 1 and is a great opportunity to get organized before the start of the school year. AC Start Orientation also helps you access important academic and support services in a one-stop-shop setting.
