Making Algonquin Proud Award
The Algonquin College Pembroke Campus is committed to creating an environment where all learners – students, clients, and employees – thrive. We cannot accomplish that goal without the commitment and engagement of our employees. The Making Algonquin Proud Award recognizes Pembroke Campus employees who demonstrate a commitment to helping others transform their hopes and dreams into lifelong success and embody the College’s values of Caring, Learning, Integrity, and Respect, either through a history of outstanding service or a recent extraordinary act that supports our mission.
Eligibility
The award is open to all current employees (full-time and part-time, permanent and contract). Individuals may be nominated more than once, but may not receive the award more than once in a two-year period.
Who can and cannot be nominators?
Employees are encouraged to nominate their peers from across the college community. Self-nominations and nominations put forth by managers for direct reports are not permitted.
Who approves the award nomination?
The Dean’s Management Committee, in consultation with others as needed.
How many winners will there be?
There is no pre-determined number of awards to be distributed each year.
Award presentations
Awards will be presented by the Dean at all-employee meetings throughout the year. The award will consist of a certificate of recognition and a special “I Make Algonquin Proud” mug.
Publicity
Those making nominations and those selected as winners agree that any or all of the information received in support of those nominations can be used in public releases and profiles.
