Opportunity for incoming students to share their feelings about starting college in a way they weren’t expecting – virtually. Let’s talk about what will be different about making new friends or connections with classmates and how can students connect with others virtually and off-campus. Let’s discuss ways students can prepare for and manage normal feelings like loneliness and homesickness in this environment. Let’s consider ways new students can feel connected to the college community and still have the social experience they were looking forward to.

Maybe you are a gamer, a knitter, do yoga or Tae Kwon Do. Maybe you build or write poetry, paint or make jewelry. Bring your talent and stuff and we will share.

Pride Week: Kindness Rocks! Rock Painting

Algonquin College Waterfront Campus presents Kindness Rocks! Rock Painting on Zoom! This is an all-ages virtual zoom event. The goal is to paint as many kindness rocks as you talk about 2sLGBTQ+ topics\themes, and ask questions. Then you can spread your kindness rocks around your community and keep the conversation going!

We encourage you to share your rock designs with us when you’re done!

In partnership with North Hastings Children’s Services, Algonquin Inòdewiziwin Child and Family EarlyON Centre and in recognition of Indigenous History Month, we are pleased to offer virtual Community Hand Drumming.

This will be a time to come and, learn and share songs. A time to have fun but be respectful of different teachings, and to understand, and to listen. A positive hour of connecting during COVID-19 of caring adults with a passion for hand drumming. This is a time to make new friends and reunite with old friends. So get your hand drums and shakers out and join in the fun, while being respectful and considerate of one another.
