Job Description
*** In lieu of the hourly rate a pristine 2 bedroom bungalow rent free will be offered. Work hours can be somewhat flexible but discussions are required relative to timing. Rate of pay valued at $25.00 per hour.
Hours of work: 20 to 22 hours per week.(see reference below)
The assistant is responsible for general farm duties including keeping barns clean as well as maintenance around the farm. We would anticipate that the selected candidate would have another part time position to fulfill a regular working schedule or be semi-retired. The successful candidate would have a current drivers license and have a vehicle for transportation to and from work.
Duties and responsibilities:
1. Cleaning
Ensuring that the barns are clean and fresh water is provided. Keeping the farm in good repair without clutter.
2. Light maintenance
Ensure that fencing and gates are in order and be able to make repairs if required. Snow Removal as required: clear snow from driveway and pathways around animal feeding stations. A medium sized tractor with snow removal equipment is provided. Experience working a tractor would be beneficial.
General: Raking, sweeping, power washing structures if needed. Hay to be placed in the feeders via tractor for the animals as needed during winter months. Assistance with animals if required.
3. Other
The home that is provided will be kept in good order, be smoke free and as in a normal rental agreement utilities will be paid by the resident. The grounds must be kept free of clutter, grass cut and flower beds maintained. The written agreement that would be established provides for standard rental provisions under a tax free License to Reside agreement.
Requirements:
Reference Checks such as previous employment/current part time employment, credit, police and
rental home references as would normally be conducted for the rental of a home or an offer of
employment.

Not an issue however secondary school (preferred).
Experience:
Maintenance: 1 year (preferred). Some handyman experience would be an asset.
Work Location: In person, on site. The farm and home (separate locations) are both in Beachburg.
Expected start date: As soon as possible (moving date in consideration).
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Pay: $25.00 per hour up to a rental fee of 2,200 per month for the home provided.
Expected hours: approximately 20 – 22 hours per week

We have been operating a registered Llama breeding program of high standards for over 20 years in the Whitewater Region of Ontario (Beachburg, Ontario). We are well known for our breeding standards throughout Europe and the United States. We are in a position to offer a rent free home in exchange for help on the farm. Our animals are of quiet nature and are bred for temperament and conformation. The Candidate would have a sincere interest in helping us to keep the farm in good order and work as if it were their own. An ethical, honest hard working individual who is respectful of animals. A gentleman or (couple), would be non smoking and respective of property not only on the farm but also the home that we will be offering rent free. The home being offered is pristine. A 2 bedroom, 1 bath/1 powder room bungalow with attached garage. New kitchen/granite counters etc. A lovely property in a quiet prestige neighbourhood.
