Job Description

Winter approximately 9 hours/Summer approximately 18 hours)

Under the direction of the Public Works Superintendent this position assists in the provision of services related to waste management including maintaining the waste disposal site in compliance with environmental legislation and assists residents in the collection of waste disposal and recycling amenities. The incumbent collects waste disposal fees from residents, responds to inquiries from the public and submits activity reports to the Public Works Manager as needed.

Qualifications:
Must be punctual, motivated, self-starter and able to work alone without supervision and/or in a team environment.
Good interpersonal skills to deal politely and effectively with the public. Must have knowledge of Provincial requirements for Waste Disposal
Must be in good physical health to respond to the demands of the landfill site, with long periods of standing
Must be in able to lift 50pounds and work in a waste environment (subject to heat, cold, dusty, conditions etc).

Compensation: Pay rate in accordance with CUPE Local 4524 Wage Scale. Completed job description available upon request.
