Job Description

Department: Mindiwin Manido Day Care
Manager: Executive Director of Operations
$72,800/ annually – 35 hours a week
1 year contract with possibility of permanency

The Day Care Manager will provide overall management and leadership of the day-to-day operations of the Algonquins of Pikwakanagan First Nation Day Care – Mindiwin Manido associated with classroom study of Early Childhood Development, including the development, recommendation, and administration of policies and procedures and processes to ensure that the Mindiwin Manido operations meet the minimum standards for childcare center licensing laws.

1. Program Management:
– Plans, coordinates, maintains, and oversees operations of the Mindiwin Manido and assists with the childcare development program to ensure that the well-being and learning objectives of children under the care of Mindiwin Manido are met.
– Develops, recommends, and administers policies procedures, and processes in support of Mindiwin Manido operations and ensures compliance with approved policies, procedures, and processes.
– Prepares reports for the Ministry of Education and College of Early Childhood Education for Licensing and other agencies to ensure compliance is met and the safety and well-being of all children cared for at Mindiwin Mandio.
– Provides statistical, financial, progress, and other reports required by funding agencies and the Executive Director.
– Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates the strategic plans and annualized work plans for Mindiwin Mandio.
– Ensure traditional Algonquin language and culture are directed and implemented.

REQUIREMENETS:
– Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Social Work, Business or related field of study, with two (2) years ofexperience in a management/supervisory, role. OR;
– Post-Secondary Diploma in Education, Social Work, Business, or related field with three (3) years in amanagement/supervisory role.
– Experience working in a childcare setting or education environment.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
– An acceptable Criminal Records Check and Vulnerable Sector Check; annually.
– Certificate of medical health by a physician and complete record of immunization; annually.
– Current First Aid and CPR “Level C” certification; annually
– Cultural Awareness Training
