Job Description

Seasonal Location: Stonecliffe and surrounding area
Responsibilities
Safely operates excavators, utilizing machine-specific controls and machine attachments to complete all necessary tasks related to construction and utility work
Comfortable operating on adverse terrain, in winter operations, and/or near other equipment and power lines
Able to operate in crowded, fast-paced working environments
Interprets verbal and non-verbal communication (including hand signals) from operators, ground personnel, and swampers
Performs mechanical inspections and servicing including controls and operations, completing logbooks, performing maintenance and adjustments, ensuring good housekeeping, and performing machine lubrication
Recognizes existing and potential hazards and knows how to identify these through conducting a field-level pre-job hazard analysis, checking the machine for hazards, and assessing any tasks before starting
Qualifications
A minimum of three years of experience in operating excavators, backhoes, directional drills, cable plows, tractors, and skid steers following quality, safety, and efficiency standards
A minimum of one year of experience performing tasks such as building access roads, stripping, shading, grading, trenching, boring support, backfilling and clean-up
Experience operating an excavator or other heavy equipment on steep slopes and with winch equipment is preferred
Class G license (minimum) with AZ or CDL licenses as an asset
