Job Description:

Reporting to the Manager of Community and Student Affairs, the incumbent has a multi-faceted role that supports the financial aid needs of students at the Pembroke Campus while also assisting with the digital communication to applicants in the admissions funnel.

The incument is responsible for process review in the administration of Federal/Provincial student loans, grants and institutional funds by delivering financial assistance to full-time and part-time student clients. This work includes processing Ontario Student Assistance Program/Ontario Tuition Grant/Institutional Special Bursary Program/Part-Time Canada Student Program applications, reviews and appeals as well as maintaining Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities Web systems, which include Web OSAP applications, the OSAP One Key system plus error corrections and continuous upgrading of student files. The incumbent is also responsible for administering the Registrar’s Office’s Emergency Student Funding, including the Plant Some Roots Bursary and the Algonquin College’s Students’ Association Emergency program.

The incumbent plays a pivotal role in nurturing applicants through the admissions process to registration. They develop and coordinate engaging content for email campaigns, provide program-related information, and maintain regular communication with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective applicant conversion. The officer tracks and manages interactions with prospective students and stakeholders using CRM tools, enhancing the overall admissions experience. This work supports the overall strategic enrolment management efforts at the Pembroke Campus.

Required Qualifications:

Minimum of two (2) year diploma in Business Administration, International Business, Communication or similar areas of study, or equivalent;

Minimum of five (5) years experience working in customer/client service or a student service area of a post-secondary institution in more progressive and more responsible positions;

Must have demonstrated experience dealing with multi-cultural students;

Must also have demonstrated experience in highly emotional conflict resolution areas;

Have strong computer skills; plus demonstrate capability and experience re strong attention to detail;

Prior experience in a Financial Aid Office and Communications/Marketing role of a post-secondary institution is highly desirable.
