Casual Support Worker for an Adult with an Intellectual Disability/ Brain Injury

Our family is looking to grow their team at our Renfrew location.

We currently have permanent casual support worker position available. Summer students welcome to apply!

We are seeking applicants who are responsible and caring to support an Individual within our private home. This is one-on-one support for one resident in a home setting. Potential part-time hours available.

Shifts: We are seeking someone who is available to work 9:00 am to 3:00 pm on Saturdays (a minimum of two weekends a month). We need someone who can cover occasional sick calls and vacation leave on weekends. We are seeking applicants with weekend availability.

Tasks and Responsibilities: medication administration, assisting with toileting, bathing, and dressing, taking the client on outings, preparing meals, drives to appointments, and providing supervision and care to a young adult.

The Client: The client has a seizure disorder and intellectual disability. The client can walk independently but needs one to one support during awake hours and is at risk for falls.

Education Requirements: Nursing student, PSW certificate, RPN certificate, DSW certificate/diploma, SSW diploma and/or direct experience working. Summer students studying Nursing, RPN, RN, PSW welcome to apply!

Current with First Aid/CPR, valid driver’s license, and a current vulnerable sector check. Training opportunities-ongoing, including CPI-Crisis Prevention Intervention.

Wage: $26 an hour. (Base pay $23 an hour plus the government $3 an hour PSW incentive)
